One of the saddest melodies in the world is Fur Elise by Beethoven.

Dripping with melancholy, haunting. It makes you feel alone, even if you are with a million people at the time.

It brings in the night, the darkness, the hopelessness, the uncertainity.

I wonder what was on Beethoven's mind when he wrote it.
